That is the first post-pandemic home run in the world. That makes me feel pretty dang happy.
Now I'm not one who watches every single baseball game that's played, but when nothing is happening, I need some kind of normal to satiate my sports cravings. The Chinese Professional Baseball League is doing that after returning this week. That first home run is like a breath of fresh air to a sports fan who wanted new highlights.
Of course, baseball in the US is still a ways out but having these highlights are a nice reminder of what is coming soon thanks to our social distancing efforts.
While the stands were not filled with fans, they also were not empty. They were filled with robots, cardboard cutouts, and mannequins. It's weird but it's something!
