We here on Open Mike are not language experts. We are constantly learning and changing the way we speak as we grow in an ever changing world. John Beilein might want to take notes.
It came out that Beilein called his team "a bunch of thugs" and was forced to apologize for the language he used. Instead of just apologizing, he tried to back door his way out by saying he meant to use "slugs" instead of thugs.
Not a good look.
But there is an interesting topic here about language and what is and is not a racially charged word. We discussed this on Open Mike.
