That was the last time we heard from former Florida State head coach Willie Taggart before he was fired after 1.75 years into his contract, or should I say tenure because reports are coming out saying Taggart didn't sign a formal contract.
Yup. He never signed a contract.
According to the Tampa Bay Times,
On the day Florida State hired Willie Taggart as its football coach, the Seminoles typed up a nine-page letter of agreement.
The letter called itself a binding document, but it was meant to be a placeholder until the two sides finalized a formal contract, which they intended to do “as soon as practicable.”
That never happened.
This could mean getting his buyout will be more difficult than intended and FSU might be off the hook.
