Since the beginning, Orlando City fans have been the soundtrack of this city. Now they have a new kit inspired by their tireless vocal support to launch the 2019 Major League Soccer season.
The kit, which was unveiled by supporters at Lion’s Pride soccer pub Friday evening, takes inspiration from the trademark noise and energy City fans bring to every game at Orlando City Stadium. This is symbolized by a sound-wave like geometric pattern on the new jersey.
“We are proud to introduce the new jersey alongside our supporters and new Face of City class. We couldn’t have selected a more passionate group of fans to be the faces of our Club in 2019,” said Orlando City SC Senior VP of Marketing and Brand Pedro Franklin de Araujo. “From the loud noise to the electric atmosphere they create in our stadium, the new kit was designed with our supporters in mind. We want our players to be constantly reminded of their energy and passion on the field.”
Prominently displayed across the front of the jersey is the Orlando Health logo, the Club’s official medical partner and jersey entitlement sponsor for the ninth-consecutive year, including five MLS and four USL seasons.
Additional details include the words "Defend the Fortress," along the back neckline, reinforcing the consistent, intimidating atmosphere fans create to give the Lions a competitive home-field advantage.
Toward the bottom left corner, the jock tag wraps up with a flag graphic honoring the Club’s pride for the City of Orlando and its home state of Florida.
Fans can purchase the jersey at the Club’s official team store, The Den, located at Orlando City Stadium (655 W. Church St., Orlando, FL 32805); inside of Lion’s Pride soccer pub (123 W. Church St., Orlando, FL 32801), as well as online at www.MLSstore.com.
