Aaron Gordon is BACK with the Orlando Magic

The Orlando Magic have agreed to re-sign restricted free-agent forward Aaron Gordon to a four-year, $84 million contract

I know re-signing a player in the midst of all the free-agent frenzy isn't the sexy move, but in reality, it's the best move the Magic could make this off-season. And this, coming from a guy who doesn't buy Aaron Gordon as an "it" guy. I will say this, the fact that Indiana was looking to add AG had me spooked a little bit, could you imagine a world where Aaron Gordon and Victor Oladipo are tearing up the east for a team not named Orlando? That would've been terrible. So maybe it was the fear of losing him to a team that could maximize his talent that restored faith, but here goes my positive spin...

If the Magic were just simply part of the actual free-agent bidding market, who were they going to land this off-season? Not LeBron, not KD, not Boogie Cousins (as if the team needs another center), and certainly not Chris Paul. Once you got past the top guys, who were HIGHLY unlikely to sign with a rebuilding Magic team, one could make the argument, Gordon was the best of the rest.

Gordon averaged career highs of 17.6 points, 7.9 rebounds, 2.3 assists and two 3-pointers made per game during the 2017-18 season for Orlando. More importantly, I've put my faith in the management of Hammond and Weltman to do the right thing, and if he's good enough for them, he's good enough for me. #TrusttheSunshineStateProcess - @BrandonKravitz
