Southwest Florida man arrested for trying to behead victim during attack

Punta Gorda, FL - A Southwest Florida man's been charged with attempted second-degree murder after trying to behead someone using a knife and scissors.

Police say Edmond Clarke was arrested after stabbing the victim over 40 times during a confrontation at The Trading Post at Burnt Store Marina.

Clarke was captured on surveillance camera stabbing the victim using a bread knife, before grabbing a pair of scissors and trying to behead him.

Neighbors tell NBC 2 News the attack was not random and that Clark worked for the victim's family for ten years.

Clarke is facing attempted second-degree murder charges.

The victim is alive and currently undergoing surgery.
