During a recent radio appearance, Patriots head coach Bill Belichick criticized teams that go out and spend a lot of money on free agents and signing bonuses saying that teams that overspend can't have sustained success. Ben Maller points out that the Patriots don't help his point.
Ben Maller: "The Patriots sustained success was not because they were cheap. It was not because they were tightwads. It was because Tom Brady was better than all the rest...He was so good and so much better in big moments that the Patriots were able to make it work."
