The Bears Will Never Be a Real Contender With Mitch Trubisky at Quarterback

Green Bay Packers v Chicago Bears
Ben Maller: “The Bears are not a legit contender with that offense. The struggle is REAL for Mitch Trubisky. I’m not going to just say this is a one-off and give Trubisky a mulligan.” (Full Audio at Bottom of Page)

Listen to Ben Maller explain why he’s not on the Chicago Bears bandwagon this season just a year after the team went 12-4 and earned the NFC’s number three seed in the playoffs.

The Bears were one of the NFL’s surprise teams in 2018 under rookie head coach Matt Nagy, and became one of the toughest matchups in the league with newly acquired Khalil Mack electrifying an already stout front seven.

Mitch Trubisky had a solid second season in the NFL after being a dud as a rookie, finishing with 24 touchdowns and 12 interceptions, and finishing with the third highest QBR in the league.

Maller, however, is not a big fan of Trubisky. Despite the stellar sabermetrics, he only finished 20th in the league in passing yards, 18th in yards per attempt, and finished 10 of his 14 starts with under 250 yards passing.

Trubisky had a rotten opener versus the Packers on Thursday Night Football, going 26/45 for 228 yards, with 0 touchdowns, 1 interception, and a 15.6 QBR.

Check out the audio below as Maller explains why he doesn't think last night was a fluke for the third-year starter.
