The Orlando Magic will hold an individual workout of North Carolina State point guard and draft prospect Dennis Smith Jr. on Monday morning at Amway Center.
Smith averaged 18.1 points, 4.6 rebounds and 6.2 assists per game during his lone season with the Wolfpack. He also made 35.9 percent of his 3-point attempts. - Josh Robbins
The Magic desperately need a point guard they can feel comfortable with from game to game, I don't think I'm breaking news here when I say that. Elfrid Payton has not been getting the job done and if this is a player sitting there at 5 or 6 (where the Magic will likely be picking) they could certainly do worse.
Dennis Smith came off of an ACL injury heading in to last season with NC State and was still able to put up dazzling numbers and even more impressive highlights. He's not quite as flashy (or polarizing) as a Lonzo Ball, he's not quite as well rounded as a Markelle Fultz, or as fast as a De'Aron Fox. However he is solid, a playmaker, and a guy that can finish at the rim. His lack of controversy and attention seems to fit the current culture of the Magic as well. They could use a guy like this heading into the 2017-2018 season. - Kravitz
