The Big 12 saw the more parody last season than ever before. TCU went from unranked in the Preseason top 25 to playing the the College Football National Championship. Kansas State overcame the Horned Frogs in the Big 12 Conference Championship game. Oklahoma finished with a sub-500 record for the first time since 1998. This season, the conference is back to it's roots with Oklahoma ranking No. 5 in the latest top 25 and Texas at No. 9. Kansas is the only other Big 12 school to crack the top 25 at No. 23.
Texas and Oklahoma will be leaving the Big 12 for the SEC next season, making way for new universities to rise to the title of 'top dogs', but also leaving a massive hole in high-level talent and competition. How will this compare to the other Power Conferences in college football? Brandon and I discuss on the podcast below. Catch 'In The Zone' Monday through Friday from 3 p.m. - 6 p.m. on FM 96.9 The Game or the iHeartRadio app.
