Florida State quarterback Deondre Francois has been dismissed from the team, coach Willie Taggart announced Sunday.
Taggart said in a statement that he told Francois on Saturday night he is no longer a part of the program. Taggart's decision to drop Francois came the same day the quarterback's girlfriend posted a video to Instagram alleging abuse by Francois, the Associated Press reported.
"As we build a new culture and foundation for FSU football, we have high expectations for all of our student-athletes and we will not shy away from those high standards of conduct," Taggart said in a statement. "We are moving forward as a program."
Is this the kind of move that could set the tone for Willie Taggart entering the 2nd year of his tenure @ FSU? Year one was a miserable flop but perhaps this is the kind of disciplinary decision that puts players on notice that Willie T isn't messing around.
