Tonight in Tampa Bay, Jon Gruden will be the 2nd coach added to the Buccaneers ring of honor. The first being John McKay. Many have had this debate before, and with Gruden being honored tonight for his achievements with the Bucs, we figured we'd spark it again.
Who deserves more credit for the Bucs success in the early 2000's, Tony Dungy or Jon Gruden? And if you want to be more specific, who deserves to be honored first? They both did great things for the organization, but one built the team (Dungy), while the other hoisted the ultimate prize (Gruden).
I believe Martin Fennelly from the Tampa Bay Times says it best:
"Tony Dungy made the Bucs matter. Jon Gruden made them world champions. Dungy and Gruden made history together, even though they didn’t do it together."
