Why is There Not More Love for Nikola Jokic?

placeholder image

In the month of April, the Nuggets are 0-3. However, Nikola Jokic has done his part as he has averaged 45 points, 10.7 assists, and 12.3 rebounds while shooting 62% from the field, 44.8% from deep, and 80% at the free throw line. Over that span, he has two triple-doubles (just missing a third by one assist) including an NBA-best 61-point triple-double. For the season, Jokic is averaging a career-high in points, assists, steals, minutes played, shots attempted and made, three-pointers made and attempted, and three-point shooting percentage. To add to it, he's averaging a triple-double for the season and if that keeps up, he will be only the third player in NBA history to average a triple-double for a season. He would join Oscar Robertson and Russell Westbrook as the only other plays to do so.

Yet for all the accolades and exceptional individual performances that he has, it does not seem like the NBA gives Jokic the same amount of love that they tend to give other superstars. Marc and CV discuss and share their thoughts as to why that is.
