Rays Even Series With Twins

The Tampa Bay Rays (68-60) defeated the Minnesota Twins (75-63) 2-1 on Tuesday night at Tropicana Field to even the four game series at 1-1.

Carlos Santana gave the Twins an early lead when he hit a solo homer in the second, but that was the only offense for Minnesota in this one. In the fourth inning Jonathan Aranda tied the game with a RBI single, before Logan Driscoll made his first MLB hit count with a go-ahead RBI single that made it 2-1.

Jeffrey Springs (2-2, 3.27) got the start and allowed one earned run on four hits while striking out four and walking two in six innings of work. Drew Rasmussen then pitched two shutout innings in which he struck out three, while Edwin Uceta and Garrett Cleavinger worked the ninth. For Cleavinger, who got the final out, it was his fifth save of the season.
