Tampa Mom Accused Of Murdering Daughter

TAMPA-- Police have charged a 38-year-old woman in the death of her 18-year-old daughter earlier this month.

Police say it appears Rotesha Silveus strangled Natavia Sanders at a home on the 1900 block of East 23rd Avenue. They say Sanders called police early on May 11th, saying she "just woke up from being passed out." Then the call disconnected. Officers went to the home, detained Silveus and found Sanders unresponsive and began conducting CPR. She was taken to a hospital in critical condition and died two days later.

Silveus, already charged with Aggravated Battery and Resisting an Officer with Violence, saw her charge upgraded to First Degree Murder. She's being held in the Orient Road Jail.
