Gators Fall To Tennessee Volunteers In Knoxville

The Florida Gators (2-2, 0-2 SEC) fell to the Tennessee Volunteers (4-0o, 1-0 SEC) 38-33 on Saturday evening in Knoxville.

The game was back and forth through the first half, with Tennessee going into halftime leading 17-14. The Volunteers were able to build a lead of 38-21 midway through the fourth quarter, but the Gators rallied with two touchdowns late to pull within 38-33 with seventeen seconds to go. After the Gators made an incredible onside kick recovery, Anthony Richardson's final throw of the game was a Hail Mary that was intercepted for Tennessee to clinch the win.

Richardson went 24-of-44 with 453 yards and two touchdowns (with one interception). He added 62 yards with two more touchdowns on the ground.

The Gators return home to play FCS Eastern Washington on October 1st. Kickoff from Gainesville on Saturday is scheduled for 12:00 PM.
