Joe Burrow Can Stick It To Urban Meyer On Thursday Night Football

Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow played under Urban Meyer at Ohio St in 2016 and 2017 but was not able to earn the starting job for the Buckeyes. Since then, all he's done is improve every year of his football career. He transferred to LSU in 2018 and won the Heisman, National Championship in 2019 while throwing for over 5600 yards, 60 touchdowns and just 6 picks. One of the best seasons ever of a college QB.

In 2020, he was the number one overall pick and opened plenty of eyes in the NFL until suffering a severe knee injury but somehow, less than a year later, he seems to be back at full strength and has this upstart Bengals team at 2-1, tied for first place in the AFC North with the Ravens and Browns.

Burrow has said he was appreciative of the opportunity that Coach Meyer gave him out of high school and claimed that injuries were one of the reasons why he never became a starter there. Both Burrow and Meyer have said they still have a close relationship and there is respect both ways. In fact, Meyer spoke glowingly about his development and Burrow himself says the skills he learned at Ohio St helped him become the player he is now. However, from a fan's perspective, their history makes Thursday night's matchup intriguing.
