The Best and Worst in Football This Weekend

BEST - Chiefs v Ravens

Aside from the Ravens pulling out the win at the last minute. This game had everything we love in pro football. Big plays, scary mistakes, two great QBs and a very loud stadium. It all wrapped up with a surprise ending we weren't expecting. You had to love every single second of it.

WORST - Ben Roethlisberger for the Steelers

Big Ben looks old, beat down, and nearly washed up. I'm not saying he's all washed up. But he sure looks it. The thing is, it's not his talent that's the problem. His problem is, he's physically done. He looks like a superhero who has depleted all their special sauce. Like, they have a super crystal that gives them all their energy and it only lasts for 12 hours. And it's been 11 hours and 30 minutes.

BEST - Gators resilience against Alabama

The Gators showed they could easily become one of the top 3 teams in the country. Their next few games are against Tennessee, Kentucky, Vandy, and LSU before they face the Georgia Bulldogs. And that FSU game might have already forfeited by the Seminoles LOL - So the Gators can easily find themselves in a picture perfect position for a rematch in the SEC championship.

WORST - FSU getting beaten by Wake Forest

Wake Forest is a team that not only stinks in football, they now stink in basketball, and have been focusing their recruiting on Lacrosse. I'm certain someday in the next few years FSU will get back on theif feet, but right now, after losses to Jacksonville State and Wake Forest they're the laughing stock of the state of Florida.

BEST - Auburn v Penn State

Another magnificent display of greatness on a football field. The whiteout. The defensive struggle. Watching these two teams trade blows in primetime and having the outcome decided late in the game, is everything we want in college football. On top of all that, Penn State climbs its way back into college football relevance. And that's great for the landscape of college football.

WORST- Miami Losing to Michigan State

It's not quite time to panic for the Canes fans, but my GOODNESS, they did nothing right in this game. Their offense was stagnant. Their defense was forgettable. Special teams made no big plays. They got out coached. And their 5-star QB played much more like a 3-star quarterback. The Canes still have a chance to make a run in their ACC conference schedule. But this loss does not help their momentum or confidence going forward.

BEST - The Tampa Bay Brady's

Who's beating this team? Of course they will take a loss here and there during the season. But, only because it's a long 17-game season and perfection is SUPER hard to do. The Bucs go up big 21-3, then let Atlanta get back into the game and make it a 3-pt game. Tom Brady and the Bucs then proceed to turn on the jets and not let the Falcons score another point. All while putting up 20 unanswered points. The Bucs feel unreal and a little unfair to the rest of the league.

WORST - Jameis Freaking Winston

Old Jameis is back. After putting up 5 touchdowns in week one, Jameis Winston account for zero touchdowns and 2 interceptions in week #2. THis is exactly the Jameis we were expecting, and he'll most likely stay this version of himself. What was the key indicator that Jameis hadn't turned over a new leaf? In week #1 Jameis threw for 148 yards. 5 TDs, 145 yards. That's not nearly enough yards to justify 5 touchdowns. This week, he went for 111 yards. Basically the same performance, just without the touchdowns. This may be a long season for New Orleans.

BEST - Vikings v Cardinals - Cowboys v Chargers - Seahawks v Titans - Rams v Colts

All these games were nail biters with unexpected endings. And they were all FANTASTIC contests. These games area everything we loved about football and if you got the chance to flip through your channels the see them, you got a real treat.
