Bucs/Cowboys Fantasy Options Ranked From Least to Most Startable

Tomorrow night, Bucs vs Cowboys, a pretty interesting matchup for fantasy purposes because there are approx.. 8 Bucs you could be looking @ starting and 5 Cowboys according to my count. That’s a lot.

Compare that to Jets/Panthers on Sunday where you have 5 or 6 TOTAL in the game you’d be looking @...so 13 solid options, that is fantasy gold.

Here’s the problem though…the Bucs have a really good defense, at every level. So the pass catchers for the Boys, slightly dampened. Prescott is coming back from a massive injury. Perhaps they take it slow and don’t let him drop back 40x…ok, so they’ll lean on the run…The Bucs allowed 94 yards per game on the ground…

The only teams better than the Bucs in that department last year were defenses (like Detroit) who were only good at that stat, because they couldn’t stop the pass.

Conversely…

I’m firing on all cylinders with the Bucs. Especially in the pass game. Brady might throw for 400 and 4 TD’s in this game.

I have ranked from 13 to 1 the most startable options in this game:

13- Giovani Bernard- Good for 4 to 5 receptions, maybe he sneaks into the end-zone.

12- Michael Gallup- If you’re thin @ WR, he might be the only Cowboy the Bucs are keying in on in the pass game. I wouldn’t be surprised if he got loose for a TD.

11- Ronald Jones- My only reasoning for having Jones behind Fournette is because of recency bias. Jones was the better RB during the regular season last year, but Lenny took over in the playoffs.

10- Leonard Fournette- See #11.

9- Bucs DST- Don’t love it, but you probably drafted them as your only DST, so roll with it and hope for the best.

8- Prescott- Don’t be surprised if they slow play Prescott’s return. He’ll have defenders in his face all night long.

7- Chris Godwin- A quad injury this close to kickoff on Thursday makes me a tad nervous, play him if he plays though. 6 and 7 are fluid for me.

6- AB- Bruce says he looks like the AB of old, let’s see it.

5- Zeke- The Bucs don’t let RB’s go off, I am just banking on the fact that Zeke is going to be in better shape and they need to feed him if they want a chance in this game.

4- CeeDee Lamb- Carlton Davis and Sean Murphy Bunting are a nightmare for Cooper and Lamb but they’re good enough to still breakthrough and make some plays. Lamb will lineup all over the field.

3- Amari Cooper- Cooper has something to prove, Prescott loves him. Cooper averaged 12.5 targets per game in the first 4 games of the Cowboys season last year.

2- Mike Evans- I guess the Cowboys will throw Trevon Diggs on him, 2nd year player out of Bama. You can’t double him. Godspeed young sir.

1-Brady- 400 yards. 4 touchdowns. Book it! Cowboys ranked 11th in fantasy ppg allowed to the QB position last year. And they play in the NFC East.
