Even Troy Aikman is Over the Cowboys

He didn't say much, but what he said has been heard all over sportsdom and people (and by people I mean sports commentators like myself) are picking it apart for all it's worth.

Last night as the Ravens were mollywhopping the Cowboys (let's not get too excited, everyone has mollywhopped the Cowboys) you could hear a level of despair and exhaustion from Troy Aikam's voice. He was quick to point out inefficiencies and mistakes by them boys, and then in the ending moments of the game dropped this short, albeit curt statement that pretty much sums up where he and most other Cowboys fans sit.

And he's right. Whether it's questions about coaching, quarterback contracts, injuries, and my god the defense...

But it wasn't his words that meant so much. it was the pauses between them. It was his struggle to find the words. You could tell Aikman was trying to stay unbiased, while sit in the truth that the team he loves and helped become America's Team, is struggling. You could tell Aikman was hurting for the Cowboys and wished it wasn't this way.

The Cowboys have a LOT to be desired for the rest of this season and the upcoming years. Well let's face it, this season is pretty much over. But any team (every team) wants to finish strong and have a good outlook for the upcoming year.

Right now, I'm not so sure the Cowboys have that privilege.
