The L.A. Lakers currently lead the Portland Trail Blazers 2-1 in the best of seven series and with game four Monday night, the Lakers plan on honoring the late Kobe Bryant with special 'Black Mamba' City Edition jerseys. Kobe, who would have turned 42 Sunday, co-designed the jerseys which were first shown to the public during the 2016-17 season and feature a subtle snakeskin pattern and 16 stars on the side that feature the 16 championships in Lakers history.
The updated 'Black Mamba' jerseys will feature a No. 2 inside a heart on the shoulder to honor Gianna Bryant, who wore that number at Kobe's Mamba Sports Academy. Gianna was with Kobe in the helicopter crash back in January.
