The Big Ten Might Still Play After Ohio St. QB Justin Fields Petition

Justin Fields and Trevor Lawrence are in the same situation except for one key difference, one of their conferences canceled football. Both Fields and Lawrence have been advocating for playing even though there is a pandemic raging across the world. Lawrence's conference, the ACC, is still pushing forward, while Fields' Big Ten has canceled the fall season. Fields is doing everything in his power to change that.

That is a petition created by Fields that already has over 200K signatures of the 300K goal. The petition says,

We, the football players of the Big Ten, together with the fans and supporters of college football, request that the Big Ten Conference immediately reinstate the 2020 football season. Allow Big Ten players/teams to make their own choice as to whether they wish to play or opt out this fall season. Allow Big Ten players/teams who choose to opt out of playing a fall season to do so without penalty or repercussion.

Is this enough to save Big Ten football this year or is the decision final?
