Everybody loves Coach O. He's charismatic, he's fun, he loves football.
But he's wrong about how important football is. Coach O said that football is the "lifeblood of this country."
I love Coach O, but he's just wrong. Football is nice. It's our favorite sport but like sports in general, they are extra. They aren't necessary to functioning. In our internet driven world, we have entertainment of all kinds out our fingertips, we have new things happening every day in sports and entertainment.
What I'm trying to say is that we are fine. Like Sean Doolittle said, "sports are a reward for a functioning society." We are far from that right now and football will not help the situation at hand.
