Is Tony Stewart Starting A NASCAR Competitor?

Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series Ford EcoBoost 400

Tony Stewart and Hall of Fame crew chief Ray Evernham are teaming up to launch a racing circuit that could become a disrupter to auto racing.

Sports Racing Experience, or SRX in short will feature six short track races with the goal to begin racing next summer.

Now SRX will be positioned differently than NASCAR races we’ve grown accustomed over the many decades.

Changes include:

  • All races will fit into a two hour window, and air in primetime
  • All cars will be designed the same to focus on driving abilities rather than technology
  • Each race will have each driver randomly paired with a crew chief
  • Races will take place at short tracks in the heartland and be raced under the lights

SRX has already signed a major television partner with CBS committing to carry the Saturday night races.
