Dexter Rentz was at the wrong place at the wrong time. A victim of a drive by shooting and now his mother has lost a son, Louisville lost a recruit, and the Ocoee High School family lost a member over the weekend. It's never fun to write about things like this, but this is when we see people do extraordinary things for others.
Shaq is that person and that silver lining this time.
Shaquille O'Neal, who lives in Orlando, will be covering the funeral expenses of Dexter Rentz. O'Neal told ESPN, "He was on his way, he really was. I don't know what it feels like to lose a son, but I know what it feels like to lose someone.
"This one hurts my heart. It really does. I wish things like this would never go on. It's just so sad, and I want to be able to help his family. I wanted to take care of it."
