SEMINOLES AND GATORS QB QUANDARY
Deondre Francois and Feleipe Franks were named starters for their respective teams to start the year, and under new head coaches, were given every vote of confidence you could ever want to hear. However, mediocre performances followed poor performances, which were followed up by head-scratching performances, eventually led to the benching of both guys.
Franks was benched on Saturday during that debacle against Mizzou, where he would only complete 9 of his 22 passes for 84 yards. Francois's benching was more subtle, HC Willie Taggart would hide behind an undisclosed injury. But, in reality, he was probably benched. And kudos to James Blackman who came in and launched 4 TD's on 421 yards passing.
