Daily Poll: What are the expectations for UCF in 2018?

UCF celebrates Peach Bowl win at Magic Kingdom

2017 was a magical season, sort of goes without saying. An undefeated team, a win over Auburn in the Peach Bowl, one of the great offenses in college football, and an inspirational leader in the locker room like Shaquem Griffin. Plus, there was that Frost guy. How do you raise the bar or strive to get better, when you were already at your absolute best? That is the question UCF is going to answer in 2018.

They will face the challenge of coming back and improving perfection, the real elephant in the room to me isn't what they, as a team, expect to accomplish -- it's what YOU as fans expect them to accomplish. Keeping in mind: Perfection is unlikely the outcome, and something you may only experience once in a lifetime. Also, UCF is breaking in a new coach in Josh Heupel, they lost the leadership of Shaquem Griffin, and the talents of Jordan Akins, Mike Hughes, and Trequan Smith. UCF has been bragging and boasting about their National Championship all off-season, they could come back fat and happy, and they definitely will be a game circled on all of their opponents schedules. Every team they face is going to want to be the team that shuts up the self-proclaimed National Champs.

So, with all of that said, was it enough to temper your expectations? Or, is your head still in the clouds, searching for another season of football nirvana?
