  • Loyola is out of the Missouri Valley Conference or the MVC as I like to say, in Chicago. Right there on 1032 W Sheridan Road.  
  • University was established in 1870 by the Jesuits
  • Loyola houses just 16,000 students.
  • Ramblers play @ the Joseph J. Gentile Arena, holding a modest 4,486 folks.
  • The student section is called “the Pack”
  • Won NCAA Tournament in 1963
  • In 1963, Loyola coach George Ireland stood up against racial inequality, and became the first NCAA D-1 coach to start an all-black lineup.
  • Today Loyola is one of the largest Catholic universities in the nation and a major contributor to Chicago's economic and cultural capital.
  • Loyola alumni have won Emmy, Grammy, Peabody, and Pulitzer awards, as well as Guggenheim and MacArthur fellowships.
