The Orlando Magic are the worst team in the NBA record-wise as it stands right now in the regular season, but ownership still puts faith in the General Manager and President of Basketball Operations.
Jeff Weltman and John Hammond get an extension through the 2025-26 NBA season and to that, I say...GOOD.
I know the record this year (and last) has not been positive, but if I've said it once before, I've said it a million times, these guys know what they are doing and this is their first real attempt at a rebuild on this team and with this franchise. You have to see something like that through. It would be disastrous if the owners/Alex Martins decided to scrap the plans and start from scratch AGAIN.
Especially when you consider, the last 2 drafts have been home-runs for this management team. Cole Anthony picked in the middle of round 1 in 2020 and Franz Wagner @ 8 this year, find another team that crushed those portions of the draft the way the Magic have.
