The Tampa Bay Rays owner Stu Sternberg held a press conference today talking about the moves that he has made to possibly move the team partially to Montreal. He went into what some would say as vague details about how he sees the team working out in both Tampa and Montreal.
Goals Sternberg Listed:
- 40 games in Tampa, 40 in Montreal
- It's all under one team so no split revenue
- New outdoor stadiums in both Tampa and Montreal
- Greater attendance overall
- To be completed as soon as 2024
Sternberg would also talk about how the mayor has not given permission for the move but that talks have been happening and will continue to happen.
One of the most interesting moments was when Sternberg talked about how fans come to games.
Many fans have voiced outrage over the press conference and over the idea of the Rays leaving Tampa.
