Vandy Receives 1st Place Votes in the '23 SEC Media Poll

Hard to believe but several SEC Media members actually picked Vanderbilt to finish in first place in the SEC. This is why no one takes us seriously in the media these days. These folks should have their credentials revoked. Vandy has been the doormat of the league since I was a child and probably well before that too.

Vanderbilt has finished dead last in the SEC East every year for the past 4. That's 2022, 2021, 2020, and 2019. And if you're thinking to yourself, well, at least they were good in 2018...they finished 2nd to last.

Here's a look at what Athlon sports thinks about their season outlook:

Lea openly admits that Vanderbilt aims to secure a bowl bid, and it should have a better roster after going 5-7 last season. The Commodores could have a league-average offense if Swann asserts himself as a good starting quarterback, but Vanderbilt needs to eliminate big plays on defense. If that happens, the Dores could make a bowl for the first time since 2018.
