For Dan Mullen he fired two assistants to appease boosters, fans and the media. Dismissing coaches doesn't automatically fix woes, it just gets tweets and message board posts. Grantham was likely done at the end of the season but optics matter for coaches fighting to keep their job so Mullen made the move.

Meanwhile Scott Frost and Nebraska announced that he will be back next season in Lincoln but only have he gave up money on his contract and said that changes will be made to the coaching staff.
