Former FSU RB Suffers Devastating Injury

THIS SUCKS! I had high hopes for Cam going into this season. He got off to a slow start in year 1 with the Rams, but picked things up as the season went on. You figure he'd take a big step in year 2 giving what he showed you on the back half of last year, more familiarity with McVay's offense, and Matt Stafford calling the shots at QB instead of Goff.

Unfortunately, it looks like we'll need to wait until 2022 to see the former FSU stud breakout.

This from ESPN.com:

Los Angeles Rams running back Cam Akers is expected to miss the entire 2021 season after rupturing his Achilles while working out, a source told ESPN's Adam Schefter.

Akers underwent testing that confirmed the injury, the source told Schefter. The Rams had not formally announced the injury as of Tuesday morning.

In 13 games last season, Akers was the Rams' leading rusher with 625 yards and two touchdowns on 145 carries. He also caught 11 passes for 123 yards and a touchdown.
