Should We Have Hope for Sports in 2021?

I can't get past it. And I can't be the only one thinking something like this. But 2021 is on it's way and sports are in full swing. Well as full swing as they could be, but MUCH more full of a swing than we had in 2020. So I can't help but wonder... should we be so hopeful and excited for sports in 2021?

We're still cancelling sports in 2020. And like people do when a new year nears, we grab this notion that once the clock strikes 12 midnight on December 31st, everything is going to change. But it's not. I mean it will. But, will it?

I want more sports just like the next person. ANDDDD, I loved my covid stadium experience when I went to Bucs v Chiefs. It was a remarkable and safe experience. But with players still getting benched for COVID protocols, the false positives, or false negatives that are floating around, and then the idea that we're opening back up ALL the stadiums, at limited capacity of course, but still... Are we setting ourselves up for failure again.

The only league I feel will be insulated from this MAY be the NFL, since their season will be done in February, and they've made it apparent that nothing is going to stop them from having a super bowl this year.

But the NBA? College basketball? NHL?

I understand these league can't afford to lose more money like they did last year. But I really worried that as fans, we're jumping into a relationship with an ex who didn't care about our feelings when we were last together.

I suppose only time will tell. But to be honest, I think we might be jumping the gun a bit.

Hopefully I'm wrong and we're jumping the broom instead.
